Seeing as we all know Santa isn't real, Flying Out would like to take the credit for presenting, Jangle All The Way - A Xmas Party.
And have we got some amazing gifts for you!
Leave the Angry Birds themed advent chocolate at home and come celebrate at the Kings Arms, Auckland on Saturday December 14, with a handful of acts from the finest independent record labels New Zealand has to offer.
Following Flying Nun's recent re-issues of their 1985 debut album 'Hallelujah - All The Way Home' and compilation 'Juvenilia' - Dunedin troubadours The Verlaines will grace the stage. Performing two sets, including the 'Hallelujah - All The Way Home' album in it's entirety, featuring the original line up of the time of Graeme Downes, Jane Dodd and Robbie Yeats.
Joining them are Arch Hill Recording's slacker rock four-piece Surf City. Fresh off an Australian tour and playing with The Drones - Surf City will brighten the evening with tunes from their latest album, We Knew It Was Not Going To Be Like This.
Also making the trip up from the deep south, are two new Dunedin acts, proving music didn't stop in the South Island after the 1980s. Fueled by the rage one feels when on hold with Study Link, Muzai Records' Astro Children have just released their album Proteus, and are set to unleash their flowered fury upon us. While, Fishrider Records' Trick Mammoth will play tracks from their upcoming debut, 'Floristry', that will make you long to burn the midnight myrrh with that special someone.
Throw in kissing Kenneth (Flying Out's Office manager) under the mistletoe, special guests, celebrity DJ's, a record stall, an AFFCO-themed meat pack raffle, and an inconveniently placed Christmas Tree, Jangle All The Way is so full of festivities it will exorcise your Christmas spirit.
Pre-sales are $15 (incl B/F) from UnderTheRadar and are available here.
